FAQ

How far in advance should I place my order?

The fulfillment process for the majority of our personalized items requires 3-5 weeks, depending on the designs you select. Some items, such as table numbers or place cards, require only 2-3 weeks for fulfillment. Please visit our Fulfillment Process guide for a full list of turnaround times.

Invitations are traditionally mailed 6-8 weeks prior to your wedding, so we recommend placing an invitation order 12-14 weeks prior to your wedding date.

Please carefully consider our Fulfillment Process guide before placing your order, which outlines the process and timeline you can expect. We also encourage you allow extra time whenever possible to allow for the possibility of shipping or customs delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Of course! Our couples and clients live all over the world, and we work hard to ensure fast and reliable shipping no matter where you're located. You can learn more about shipping here.

Can I request samples?

Yes! A wide selection of samples are available to give you a sense of paper, print methods, color, design options and overall quality. Each sample pack is carefully composed of a variety of designs, and includes a calligraphy style guide, ink color guide, and swatches of all our in-house papers. To order, pleasevisit our sample listings.

While we strive to offer a thorough array of samples, we are not always able to provide samples of specific design specifications. There are over 500 possible combinations of print methods, ink colors, calligraphy styles and design elements.

If there is something specific you'd like to see, please email us at clients@idyllpaper.com, or include your request in the comments of your sample order, and we'll do our very best to accommodate your request.

How long do samples take to arrive?

Sample orders ship within one week, and transit times vary depending on your location. Most orders within the USA and Canada arrive within 3-10 days. All samples are shipped from our Vancouver based studio.

Do you provide rush orders?

We are most often able to work within your requested timeline without a rush request, but under some circumstances, rush orders may incur an additional fee.

All rush requests are subject to approval and availability. Please note, rush orders are not available for orders that are already in production.

Can I make changes to my order after it's been placed?

We encourage you to think carefully about your selections before placing your order, as changes after that point may incur additional charges. We also understand that changes may need to be made, and are eager to ensure your stationery is exactly right for your needs.

After an order has been placed, change fees may apply to adjustments made to your design, wording and/or paper selections. These fees are determined by the current stage of your Fulfillment Process. You can find these guidelines within our terms and conditions.

Can I change the quantity after my order has been placed?

Increasing Quantity

If you need to increase an order's quantity, we would be happy to issue a separate invoice with the cost of the extra pieces. If you require a quantity adjustment after a final proof has been approved and designs have been sent to print, an adjustment fee of $150 will be included on your invoice. Please be aware that a quantity adjustment may impact your order fulfillment time and delivery date. 

Decreasing Quantity

Please take the time to consider your quantities before placing your order, as we’re unable to offer a refund on any quantity discrepancy once an order is placed.

What kind of papers do you use?

Idyll Paper sources exceptionally high quality paper for all our stationery items.

Our luxury stock papers are uncoated, with a slight texture that is soft and beautiful to the touch. It is available in two delicate color variations: a clean, fresh white, and a subtly softer off-white tone.

Our in-house handmade papers are exquisitely beautiful and artisan made. They have a supple, delicate texture, and a natural deckled edge around all sides. Our handmade papers are available in an assortment of soft, beautiful colors created specifically for Idyll's collection.

What printing methods do you use?

The Idyll Paper wedding collection features a wide range of beautiful print methods, including foil stamping, screen-printing and high quality digital. We focus on the highest quality finishes available, bringing our designs to life in rich and vibrant ways.

I have a specific paper or print method in mind that is not available through your website.

We have taken the utmost care in selecting our paper and print offerings, and we encourage you to order a sample pack to experience the options first hand before requesting changes.

Occasionally, we are able to facilitate customizations to paper and print methods. We always enjoy working with planners, stylists, handmade paper artisans and brides to create something unique.

We reserve the right to decline this additional service at any time, and may choose to do so if we feel the quality or timeliness of your stationery will be impacted.

I'd like to handle printing myself. Do you offer printable files for purchase?

In order to ensure the level of quality that we guarantee, Idyll Paper handles all production of our designs. We do not release printable artwork files to be produced by a third party. 

What aspects of the stationery can be personalized?

Print methods, paper colors and ink colors can be personalized through our order forms. After placing an order, you will also be asked to provide all wording for your invitations, allowing you to make the content your own. All the details about personalization and design options can be found with our Process page.

What if I'd like to customize the stationery beyond the options on your site?

Customization encompasses any requests outside of the options available within our online ordering forms. There are over 600 possible combinations of features available, including ink colors, paper colors, and print methods, and we are happy to put together a custom listing based on your desired specifications. 

Fees for customizations vary based complexity and begin at $150 for single requests. Kindly email tara@tara-spencer.com with all requests and we would be happy to help you navigate the options.

Is it possible to swap out design elements from one piece to another?

 

If you require a modification that is not offered through our order form, these are considered 'customized features'. You can learn more about customization within our process page. Please email custom@idyllpaper.com for more information about the possibilities. 

Are your calligraphy envelopes printed or written by hand?

Our calligraphy styles are designed and executed by Creative Director and calligrapher Tara Spencer. We craft your envelopes using a combination of hand-lettering and printing. To ensure optimal quality and consistency, addresses are calligraphed by Tara Spencer, digitized, carefully finessed and printed on your chosen envelopes. This allows us to lay out each envelope with the upmost care, treating each as a work of art. Our hope is that the most beautiful possible letterforms make their way onto each and every envelope. This also allows us to consistently match your chosen calligraphy style and ink color, looking just as stunning on textured handmade paper as on super-smooth surfaces.

Do you contribute stationery for editorials, styled shoots or collaborations?

Yes! We love working with fellow creatives and wedding vendors on collaborations. However, we do limit the quantity and frequency of these projects. Please get in touch with tara@tara-spencer.com with the details of your project, including deadlines, other vendors involved and which suites you are interested in, and we'll be in touch with our availability.

Do you offer design and calligraphy services aside from what's available through Idyll Paper?

Idyll Paper is an exclusive collection of paper goods created by designer and calligrapher, Tara Spencer. Tara also acts as custom design studio and is available to take on custom calligraphy, design and illustration work on a limited basis. Please contact tara@tara-spencer.com for more information on these services.

Are my stationery items eligible for return?

Due to the custom nature of our stationery products, we cannot accept returns under any circumstances. If you feel there has been an error or you have a concern about your order, please get in touch with studio@idyllpaper.com. We would be happy to discuss your concerns and will do everything we can to make it right.

We ask that you carefully read our terms and conditions before placing your order, as they include the full details of our return policy.

Upon final approval of your personalized order, we cannot accept returns due to any errors (such as misspelled words or incorrect information etc.). By approving your final proofs, you accept responsibility for the information and layout as shown. If errors are discovered after proof approval and you wish to reprint, we are required to charge you for services rendered.

What if I need to cancel my stationery order?

Due to the custom nature of our stationery, your order is non-refundable and may not be canceled.
